Human Resources Business Partner
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with HR activities in support of employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer.  At least one HRBP will report to this position.
Essential Duties
  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business unit and program leadership to build relationships, understand business strategy, objectives, markets, challenges and operational plans.
  • Consults with line management, providing strategic HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group and business leaders to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Assists in the management and resolution of complex employee relations issues.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of Human Resources legal and regulatory requirements and best practices. Partners across functional lines with HR and functional support organizations as needed.
  • Provides day-to-day talent, performance, and compensation management guidance to line management in conjunction with appropriate HR SMEs.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work environments, relationships, build morale and increase productivity and engagement.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies potential training needs for business units and individual coaching needs and coordinates with appropriate HR SMEs.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Provides oversight, coaching and counsel to subordinate HRBP(s).
