The world continues to change at a rapid pace creating unprecedented urgency to find new approaches to the way we work and live. HR leaders find themselves at the epicenter of a rapidly evolving work environment and changing employee expectations and they need to design solutions and policies to respond to these pressing changes in unknown territory. In this interactive program, we will explore important principles of transformation and the role HR leaders can play in leading their organizations through these paradigm shifting times. Using proven frameworks to integrate your vision and expertise, you will have the opportunity to apply the principles of transformation to a complex personal or organizational change effort. Come ready to ponder thought-provoking questions, be inspired by brilliant examples and design your own blueprint for transformation.

Participants in this session will explore:

  • What is meant by transformation and how the current global context creates a context for transformation
  • Important principles to know when leading through transformation
  • The science of transformation


Bill Pullen is Academic Director for the Institute for Transformational Leadership and Program Director of the Leadership Coaching Program at Georgetown University and President of BPA Coaching and Consulting. His work as a teacher, coach and consultant focuses on supporting senior leaders, leadership teams, and organization in building leadership capacity and aligning leader behavior with organizational strategy and mission needs.

Bill has worked with front line leaders to C-level executives in the United States and around the world including countries such as South Africa, China, Japan, Brazil, Chile, Israel, Lebanon, India, Slovakia, U.A.E, Columbia, Australia, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. 

Bill’s client organizations have included government, foundations, non-profit organizations, trade associations, and Fortune 100 companies.

Sharon Newport is adjunct faculty for the Institute of Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University and Principal of Sharon Newport, LLC, an organizational consulting firm supporting clients with leadership effectiveness, organizational capacity, and strategic and cultural alignment.

Sharon uses neuroscience, somatic awareness, organizational development, and lenses for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to meet clients where they are and help them to create goals to evolve.

Sharon also specializes in working with non-profit associations and foundations, both domestically and internationally, and serves as a DEI strategist and facilitator for SmithBucklin, an association management company, supporting client organizations on their diversity, equity, and inclusion journeys.

The use of this official seal confirms that this Activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval. This program has been awarded 1.5 HR (General) credits.
