Description:
Employee Engagement is an ever-evolving priority for HR professionals, certainly one that had to be re-evaluated over the last year. With entire organizations having to become nimble and shift to remote work environments and flexible schedules, keeping a locally dispersed workforce engaged with the right kind of communication outreach can be particularly challenging.

In the program, our panelists will:

  • share techniques and strategies about how to reinforce employee engagement within our new norm
  • discuss lessons learned
  • address questions from attendees

Kim Moshlak, Principal Consultant, Helios HR: Kim has over 20 years of progressive Human Resources experience and a diverse set of skills across multiple HR disciplines. A veteran of the Armed Forces, Kim began leadership training early in her career, and continues to serve as a certified trainer and coach today.  

In her role at Helios HR, Kim serves as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership, as well as leading teams and executing on HR department initiatives. In addition to training and development, Kim has extensive experience in culture and employee engagement, organizational development, change management, employee relations, and talent acquisition. Kim’s diverse background in supporting multiple industries from tech start-ups, non-profits, to government contractors and Fortune 50 companies, has helped her bring creativity and innovation to find effective solutions for her clients.  

Kim holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College, the Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), the Senior Certified Professional certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), a coaching certification from the Association for Talent Development (ATD), and is a certified Wiley DiSC trainer. She is also the lead instructor of Helios HR’s PHR/SPHR Prep Course, where she helps human resource professionals prepare for their HRCI exam certifications.

Throughout her career, Dee Dee Mendez has woven in and out of Corporate HR and running her own consulting businesses. She has most recently consulted to AARP and CFP Board on high-profile Organizational Design and Talent Strategy projects. Dee Dee has been an employee of Hewlett Packard, Citi Private Bank, Merrill Lynch and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Her sweet spots are Employee Engagement, Leadership Development, High-Performance Coaching and all aspects of Organization Effectiveness and Talent Management.

Particularly in the current climate with COVID and the social unrest in the world, Dee Dee uses Employee Feedback Survey results to design Talent programs that address psychological safety and allship for women and people of color in the workplace.

Dee Dee has a M.A. in Human Resources Management from Marymount University and a B.A. in English and Spanish from George Mason University. After 15 years of living and working in New York City, she currently resides in a suburb of Washington, D.C. with her daughter and their pug.

Dave Willard is a talent acquisition and workforce planning executive with over fourteen years of experience in management, strategic staffing, and talent acquisition in both the commercial and public sectors.

Dave has successfully managed and motivated large recruiting and resource management teams for L-3 Communications, Booz Allen Hamilton and ManTech International. He has dedicated the last decade to developing innovative talent acquisition and workforce planning solutions in support of the Federal government, Department of Defense and Intelligence Communities.

David has a national network of senior business leaders and recruiters from across a multitude of industries who share the same passion for helping our war fighters and veterans find new career opportunities. Most of all, David has spent the last 11 years working side by side with inspirational soldiers and veterans and has a passion for helping those who defend our country's freedoms.

Carolyn Thompson is Managing Principal of the Merito Group, a nationwide talent acquisition consulting firm providing retained and direct hire executive search, RPO and sourcing programs for highly cleared professionals as well as general contingent labor services across the US.

Carolyn resides in the Washington, DC and Miami, FL areas and is frequently called upon by national magazines, trade journals, and news organizations such as The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, CNN and MSNBC to contribute content on a variety of topics.
